Hotel Atlanta  2

We stayed at this hotel February 2011 for a mini break with another couple. We booked two double rooms and both were very different, apart from the outdated decor in both. One room was a okay size and had a good sized bathroom with a bath and a shower. This room on the surface looked clean. The other room was a tiny room with a small bathroom. The main problem came in the smaller room's bathroom when we arrived we were very suprised to find hair all over the bathroom floor and blood on the bathroom wall. I went straight to reception and asked to change rooms. The woman on reception said they didn't have any other rooms to move into, which was strange since the sign at the front of the hotel did not say they were full and the fact we had been offered a choice of rooms to be closer to the other couple minutes earlier. She assured us our room would be cleaned and we went out to enjoy our holliday. When we arrived back that night our room had not been cleaned and the bathroom still had hair all over the floor and blood up the wall. Also this room looked out onto the square and was very noisy until the early hours of the morning. This I expected due to the location of the hotel, however I did not expect the builders inside the hotel to start their hammering and drilling very early the next morning. I booked this hotel as it was next to the Carlton hotel, where my friends were staying. I did not realise that the toilets had to be shared and if I had known I would not of booked into this hotel. However it wasn’t such a big deal during my stay, actually it didn’t bother me at all. The hotel staff were lovely, the room was nice and clean and the mini fridge was great. Only €2 per item and it was filled with loads of different stuff. The hotel is on Rembrandt Square and I thought it was good value. Train stop right on Rembrandt Sq. which brings you to Central station and airport. The free internet at the reception desk was great as well. Read more Hide description

Ignore all bad reviews. I went there with two friends in the triple room and had a great stay!! Location excellent and staff very friendly. Great place for young professionals.

The hotel is in Rembrandtplein which is a pivotal square of Amsterdam nightlife so you can hear some noise especially during the week end when pubs and nightclub close at 3 am but location is so convenient that you can accept this fact. It is within walking from the Central Station and close to all touristic attractions. Rooms and services are good and clean. It has free wi-fi everywhere and breakfast buffet not included but available in a small room overlooking Rembrandtplein. Building is old and so there's no lift and stairs are really steep but is a common fact in Amsterdam. Read more Hide description

We stayed at this hotel last year and found it a good bargain considering where it is located in the city. We read a lot of rather negative review on the hotel which I think were unfair. People said it was loud, well you are staying in a town square full of pubs, a coffee shop and clubs so that's what going to happen. If you don't want to see that side of Amsterdam then don't stay here. The staff were friendly enough and offered us an upgrade when we arrived with a jacuzzi bath which admittedly didn't work but as he didn't request this in the first place this was not a proble. The room was spacious, the one complaint I would have is that we asked for a double bed but we had single beds shoved together. Other than that I think the Hotel is reasonable and gets unfair write ups from what I've read elsewhere. Read more Hide description
