Pluses--priced for what you get--room is okay and quiet at night. Breakfast buffet good. Staff was helpful and they spoke English. Minuses--hotel area is located in run-down section of Prague. Dangerous to park at night and if you use the gated lot, the charge is 7 Euros/night (rip off). --Map of their location is incorrect and if you want to get into the Old City, you must take a bus and tram (~time is 30 min). The walk is far and dangerous at night and I do not recommend it. --They have no credit card machine and therefore you must pay in cash. Their currency conversions cost us an extra 4 Euros/night. This hotel is not what we expected. There was no internet, no laundry service and no multi-lingual staff. The room is what you would expect for the price but we ended up paying for a lot more than the room. Our car got broken into and we had to replace our window. Such a hassle. The staff wasn't much help with our situation. The area around the hotel isn't very safe. Garbage lying everywhere, some of it was even set on fire. I do NOT recommend anyone staying here even though it is cheap. Also, it is 30 minutes away from "Centrum" and if you are searching it on Google map, it has it's location misrepresented so don't be fooled. OK, nice large room. But a little difficult to find. No restaurant in hotel, but at rather good, local restaurant nearby (but can be difficult to find). I can recommend to use the guarded parking lot close to the hotel instead of the parking close to the hotel. Read more Hide description

We stayed here in Feb 2009 and although it is quite a long way out of the town centre, the public transport is excellent (once you can work it out). The bus stop about a minute walk and that will take you to the tube, to get into prague. Our room was basic and a little dated but we didn't pay a lot for it so it was as I expected - a place to rest our heads. The breakfast however was fab, a very good selection and fresh items were constantly being brought out. There wasn't much in the area of the hotel ie restaurants etc so we asked the receptionist where was best to eat and she directed us to this motorbike bar down the road. When we first walked in we nearly walked straight back out as it looked really menacing but we were starving. I have to say the food was rustic, huge and very tasty and we had one of the best nights there, practicing our czech on the locals. we even went back later in the week! Apart from that you really had to plan to just go into prague and stay all day/night as the hotel was realistically too far away to travel back and forth to in one day. I would recommend this hotel as a cheap option - you get what you pay for - but if I were to go back I would pay a little more to stay a little bit closer (you would save this on transport costs) Read more Hide description

Hotel Jasmine is VERY basic. But- its clean and breakfast was far better than in some of better hotels we have stayed in. The beds were just covered in a 3 inch thick layer of foam- but were OK- but only one pillow was a bummer. It appears to be in a run down area- but actually this after further touring about on the buses and trams seems typical suberbian Prague. I never felt uncomfortable nipping out at nights (but the wife wasn't so comfortable). The only food nearby is the pizza place- and its not bad for a top up after a days walking and cheap too (about £3). The local bar serves good draft beer for about 65p a pint :) It takes about 30 mins to get into town on buses and tube- and they are excellent and easy to use. If you want a budget hotel- this fits the bill- but don't expect more than the basics. Read more Hide description

We will never come again. The evening-reception-personal was very unwilling. The day-starff reception was OK. Jasmin realy need to have safety-boxes in the rooms - there was only a little ONE in the reception! That was not satisfactory. The bed-clothes were only changed once a week. The towels were only changed 2 times a week, and the room was only cleaned 2 times a week - and only superficial. The breakfast was lovely. We just returned from a trip to Prague and stayed at the Hotel Jasmin for a week. If you are interested in luxury accomodations, this is not the place for you, however, if you are looking for budget accomodations that are basic and clean, you're in the right place. Hotel Jasmin is located in Praha 9 - a region in the northeast part of the city. While it isn't practical to walk downtown, we found the public transportation to be excellent. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel and down a small walkway. The hotel told us to take the 136 bus to the Vysocanska metro station, however, from the same stop you can take the X19 bus (which comes more frequently) to the Palmovka metro station - which is on the same metro line as Vysocanska, but closer to the downtown area. We found that this saved us about 10 minute going and returning from our downtown explorations. As for the rooms, they are huge - especially by European standards. No problem with spreading all your stuff out. The rooms are also very stark, and my wife commented that it seemed like we were staying in a hospital room. If you are OK with basic appearances to the room, the Jasmin is a good deal. Another bonus to the Jasmin in the breakfast buffet that is included with your room. Each morning there is a wide range of cold-cuts, breads, and cheeses to go along with cereal and juice. It was a good way to start the day. Read more Hide description
