2012-03-16, Satisfied customers:I have just arrived home after a all inclusive weeks holiday with my partner from the Barcelo Jandia Mar and at first I did wonder what to think as I had read afew bad reviews of this hotel but I was very surprised, it was much better than I thought. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and rooms were very clean. The hotel is located on the top of a hill but to be honest it isn't as bad as people say on here - it took less than 10 minutes to walk up it, and even quicker if you go through the back entrance of the hotel. There are 2 large outdoor pools, 1 kids and a pool inside the spa on the hotel grounds and we had the advantage of using the Barcelo Playa hotel next door too, which also has 2 pools. You can also use the pool, gym and sauna inside the spa for free. There were games to play every afternoon, and entertainment every night in the show room - something for everyone. As we were all inclusive the bar was open until 11pm and once that had finished they opened their disco room from 11.30pm to 1.30am - however you do have to pay for drinks in there. The food available was a buffet style meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a snack bar which was open 12pm to 6pm. There was also an al e carte restaurant you can use for free for all inclusive however, you do need to book in at reception for that and is only open from Thursday to Sunday. There is arrange of different types of food at the buffet from salads, to pasta, fish, meats, cheeses etc, and fresh fruit and deserts ( and even chips for the brits ). I couldn't fault this hotel, we had a lovely week away and met some great people - the location of the hotel being on top of a hill could be a disadvantage but I think its purely by peoples choice. I wouldn't listen to bad reviews, most people who write them need the feel to have a moan about something and pick faults. The hill isn't as bad as they say, the food was fantastic and such a range (I really can't see how people complain) and you are told clearly that yes there are 5 pools ... But that is between the two hotels and if you are all inclusive you can use the both hotels at no extra cost. The other hotel is less than a 2 minute walk away. And yes they were only two english channels - a news channel and a sport channel but hey stop moaning people .. Who comes on holiday and watches tv anyways... Stop moaning and enjoy your holiday!!
