This hotel is located directly by the kilometre-long Playa Langosta and is only metres from Las Baulas National Park, which is famous for its leatherback turtles. The lively centre, with its countless shopping and entertainment venues as well as connections to public transport, is easily reached around 2 km away. The transfer time to San José airport is approximately 4 hours.

2012-05-01, Satisfied customers:I had read the reviews and decided the the poeple the have only ever put in 1 review should be Ignored. We very much loved the place. We were a little perplexed at the fact that the only flag that was ever flown on the beach was the red. We decided to ignore it and had a great time body surfing and just having fun in the waves. The river is easy to cross at low tide right at the mouth of the river on the beach. A little earlier in the tide swing it is best to go up river and walk accross the sand bar. The sand is a little soft and not as easy to navigate but it is the safer way if you are a bit unsure. The beach is part of the las baulas ( don't know if that is spelled correctly) and as such you are not to remove sea shells ect. You will get stopped by the security guy at the entrence to the pool area from the beach and he will make you put them in a bucket. We had the room the was the closest to the activities center where they do the shows at night. But the one thing that saved us was the fact that we were on the fith floor. Were generally tired at the end of the day and still on east coast time. We slept right through the noise. We did try to see the show a couple of times and they just were not worth the effort. Hey they try hard.. The room was very nice .it had the best view we have ever had in any other resort. We could watch the howler monkeys work their way through the trees in the morning and evening. Very cool. we had monkies sleeping in the trees right beside the pool a couple days we were there The room was accessed from the fourth floor balcony door that opened up to reveal two more doors we opened our door and had a set of stairs that went to the room.. Only one minor problem with it was the hand held shower head..It was a challenge to get it locked into place. Really pretty minor stuff. The high point of the trip was a Waiter named ALBERTO. The other wait staff were great also But this guy really made our trip. Super friendly very out going spoke english way better then I speak spanish. My wife and I just love the fresh mango and one eveing they did not have any out. So My wife told him she absolutly loved the local mango but there was none out today. He said ...Be right back. He came back with a plate of mango that was the best we had ever had.. I also comented that i would love to have so of their salsa picante (it was awesome) and he got me some the last morning we were there...The little things like that really make a hugh difference. We have nothing but very posiitive things to say about the food. If you can't find someting you like You have a problem. The deserts OH MY...The coffee Ice cream I just could not walk away from. Had to have it. We were a group of 8 people and got a reservation to the A la carte Rest. That was awesome. It was a little late 8 pm but it was well worth it. And they were very accomadating with our group. We were slighty taken aback by the fact that you have to pay by the hour to use the computers and be carefull to pick an english keyboard that has the @ sign. Asked for diet coke the first day in the room and got it the rest of the week. Left a tip with the note.May have made a difference. No big line ups for food as has been stated. the week ends were a little more busy but we just moved out to the beach. The grounds were very well kept. The people passing you on the walkways Mostly greeted you with a smile and a Hola. Would we go back? yes but we do like to try different places so it may not be next year but it is on the list. I hope the Barcelo people read this and do a little something extra for Alberto. He was the face of Barcelo and you were very well represented. Read more
